About Us
Attrahent has been in existence since 2003 and emanated from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. The company was formed when a group of engineers recognized that there were specific requirements and shortcomings within university institutions. These included:
- Campus innovators have precious little resources to risk in setting up and maintaining e-commerce facilities in order to market products via the internet. Attrahent developed a fully functional system which campus innovators could use with minimal fixed cost.
- Many professional disciplines need to continue their education and earn a legislated number of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points each year, but do not have the time to attend these events. Attrahent therefore developed an online version of these programmes which professionals can complete in their own time.
- Often university institutions have the requirement to host conferences and events. In partnership with Consultus (Pty) Ltd, Attrahent has developed a conference management solution that greatly reduces the risk and burden of administrative, paper-based functions, and enables ease of use from a user-perspective.
We are currently based in Somerset West, South Africa and have expanded our product and service offerings for use by the private sector. We have since successfully developed and implemented various event management, e-commerce, distance learning and other software solutions to tertiary institutions, local government and the private sector.
